Windows Workforce Pilot Training Program

To help sustain traditional occupational practices, address a growing local need for skilled tradespeople, and generate new employment opportunities, we were thrilled to carry out the Windows Workforce Pilot Training Program in conjunction with the Landmark Society of Western New York during Fall 2024.

For 6 weeks, the following students took part in paid, hands-on window repair training provided by window restoration expert Steve Jordan.

  • Christina Alario

  • Darrell Brown, Jr.

  • Greg Doscher

  • Lizz Hickey

  • Stef Olthoff

  • Merritt Smith

  • Brianna Treadwell

  • Cameron Visone

Steve has worked on historic structures for more than 40 years and shared his expertise with hundreds of learners. He is the author of The Window Sash Bible: A Guide to Maintaining and Restoring Old Wood Windows.

This project was made possible by the Historic Preservation Education Foundation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Rochester Area Community Foundation, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
